Air Cadet Charity News

A Message from the Chair of Trustees

This week is National Trustees Week, and we are delighted to welcome seven new trustees to our board:

Sally Fernandes

Hemma Gooljar

Martin Hoare

Kevin Limbert

Abilgail Lamb

Darryn Rawlins

Julian Van Loxton

Together, they bring extensive experience across military aviation, RAF Air Cadet adult volunteering, the defence and aerospace industries, fundraising, marketing and communications, charity operations, governance and law.

We welcome seven new trustees to our board.

The Board also wishes to express sincere thanks to former trustee Mike Neville, whose commitment, energy and support during the charity’s early development laid strong foundations for our growth. His strategic guidance and dedication to championing cadet opportunities played a key role in helping the charity reach its milestones in such a short time.

Mike Neville (left) receives a token of appreciation from Mark Osman, Chair of Trustees.

Since our launch as the Air Cadet Charity last year, we have provided over £1 million in grants to cadets across the UK, supporting ambitious and life-changing projects such as Tall Ships Race 2025, the North Region STEM Initiative and NASC 2025. Alongside direct grants, the charity has also spearheaded and funded significant national investments, including drones, flight simulators and critical gliding equipment – all designed to enhance hands-on learning, broaden access to aviation, and inspire the next generation.

The leadership of our Board of Trustees will strengthen our mission to deliver even greater support to cadets, adult volunteers and the Commandant Air Cadets as he sets out his plans for growth in response to the recent Defence Review.

Onwards and upwards,

Mark Osman, Chair of Trustees
